Lindsey Kelly 鈥16, center on the Nazareth College women鈥檚 basketball team, was the Golden Flyers鈥 representative on the Empire 8 Conference all-star team. Kelly was named to the second team for the second year in a row through voting conducted by the league鈥檚 head coaches.
Kelly, of Doylestown, Pa. and a graduate of Central Bucks East High School, led the Golden Flyers in scoring (13.6 ppg.) and rebounding (7.3 rpg.) in 2013-14. She also shot 50.4 percent (116-for-230) from the field and 79.2 percent (80-for-101) from the free-throw line.
Through two seasons, Kelly has averaged 14.9 points and 7.9 rebounds per game and has scored 713 points. In addition to Kelly, guard Veronica Peck 鈥16 was Nazareth鈥檚 representative as E8 Sportswoman of the Year. Empire 8聽emphasizes that 鈥渃ompeting with honor and integrity鈥澛爄s聽an essential component of a student-athlete鈥檚聽experience in conjunction with an institution鈥檚 educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit聽the critical traits as outstanding sportswomen.
