Lindsey Kelly Named to E8 Conference All-Star Team
Lindsey Kelly 鈥�16, center on the Nazareth College women鈥檚 basketball team, was the Golden Flyers鈥� representative on the Empire 8 Conference all-star team. Kelly was named to the second team for the second year in a row through voting conducted by the league鈥檚 head coaches.
Kelly, of Doylestown, Pa. and a graduate of Central Bucks East High School, led the Golden Flyers in scoring (13.6 ppg.) and rebounding (7.3 rpg.) in 2013-14. She also shot 50.4 percent (116-for-230) from the field and 79.2 percent (80-for-101) from the free-throw line.
Through two seasons, Kelly has averaged 14.9 points and 7.9 rebounds per game and has scored 713 points. In addition to Kelly, guard Veronica Peck 鈥�16 was Nazareth鈥檚 representative as E8 Sportswoman of the Year. Empire 8聽emphasizes that 鈥渃ompeting with honor and integrity鈥澛爄s聽an essential component of a student-athlete鈥檚聽experience in conjunction with an institution鈥檚 educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit聽the critical traits as outstanding sportswomen.
