Lucia Vetter Unger 鈥35, Chem., celebrated her 100th birthday on May 19, 2014. Lucia taught for many years at Corpus Christi School in Rochester, N.Y. She has also served countless hours as a volunteer at the Mercy Outreach Center and the Red Cross, as well as tutoring students for the G.E.D.
Eileen McGee Pestorius 鈥61, Eng., had a one-woman art show last winter at North Hills Gallery in Austin, Texas, featuring about 60 watercolors and oils. She also is a member of Plein Air Austin and Capital Art Society and teaches in Eanes ISD Community Education. In May 2013, she took a small group to France, and last May, she painted again in Italy.
Lois McClure 鈥75, Soc., was named 鈥淰ermonter of the Year鈥 by Burlington Free Press for 鈥渉er lifelong commitment to enriching people鈥檚 lives in ways big and small.鈥
Eileen T. Dalton 鈥77, 鈥81, Music, retired from Atlanta Public Schools in Atlanta, Georgia, on June 1, 2013, after teaching special education for 30 years.
Nancy Anne Holowka 鈥78, Art Hist., Studio Art, and William Holowka 鈥78, Studio Art, both part of Rochester鈥檚 The Wildroot Group, displayed new works in the Nazareth College Art Department's Colacino Gallery last winter.
Yolanda Benitez 鈥84, Bus. Admin., was the keynote speaker at the 12th annual 隆Soy Unica! 隆Soy Latina! Rally 2014.
Jamie Slattery 鈥88, Sci., was named senior vice president of software engineering at Spireon, a Mobile Resource Management (MRM) company based in Irvine, California.
Richard Slater Jr. 鈥92, Bus. Admin., is now the executive director of North American finance for the Novartis Corporation, based in East Hanover, N.J.
Sage Miller 鈥94, Math Ed., a math and computer programming teacher at Webster Thomas High School, has been honored by the National Center for Women and Information Technology with an Aspirations in Computing Educator Award for inspiring young women to pursue tech careers. She attended an upstate New York affiliate event last May.
Julianna Sikes 鈥97, 鈥01G, Art Edu., Gen. Edu., started a new position with Mt. Diablo Unified in Contra Costa County, Calif. in fall 2013. In her new role as school support administrator, Sikes provides direct coaching and support to principals and oversees several different curricular areas. A world-class athlete in fencing while at Nazareth, Sikes currently coaches fencing in Berkeley and volunteers as a member of the U.S. Fencing Association鈥檚 Safe Sport Resource team.
Mary Jo Burd 鈥98, Hist., was named the 2013-2014 Teacher of the Year at Sun Valley Middle School in Indian Trail, N.C., and Global Teacher Leader for Union County Public Schools. She has since taken a new teaching position at Charlotte Catholic High School teaching AP U.S. Government and Politics.
T.C. Pellett 鈥98, Hist., was recently awarded the Ad Council of Rochester鈥檚 鈥淟antern Award,鈥 given since 1978 to long-standing volunteers of the organization for their exceptional support and commitment. He was also recently hired by Brand Cool in Rochester as their public relations manager.
Jason Sanderson 鈥98, Modern For. Lang., completed his Ph.D. in sociolinguistics at Georgetown University in 2013.
Deanna Messinger 鈥99, Econ., has accepted the position of director of development at Kids Escaping Drugs (KED) in West Seneca, N.Y. KED is a non-profit organization that works to combat youth substance abuse and addiction through education, intervention, and in-patient rehabilitation (in partnership with Renaissance Addiction Services, Inc.).

Kellie Leigh 鈥05, 鈥10G, Mus. Edu. and Incl. Edu., was recently named assistant dean of residential life at the Eastman School of Music. She had previously worked in both the academic advisement and residential life offices at Nazareth College.
Dawn Morgan 鈥05, Psych., completed a graduate degree from Buffalo State College in 2011 and moved to North Carolina.
Leigh Kirby 鈥08, 鈥13G, Mus. Therapy, co-wrote the chapter 鈥淢usic Therapy and Pain Management in Pediatric Patients Undergoing Painful Procedures鈥 in Pain International Research in Pain Management, 2010.
Matthew Chatham 鈥09, Art, was promoted to senior art director at Pinckney Hugo Group; a full-service marketing communications firm in Syracuse, N.Y. Chatham has worked at the agency for four years and was previously an art director.
Samantha Eklund 鈥10, Psych., graduated with a bachelor鈥檚 in ministry in June 2013. She works as an office manager and a youth leader. She is also engaged to be married in January 2015.
Adam Rall 鈥10, Chem., earned his master鈥檚 degree in chemical engineering from University of Buffalo in December 2013. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D in the same field, which he plans to complete in August 2016.
Ryan Rall 鈥10, Hist., graduated from Northeastern University Law School in May 2014 and will focus on criminal prosecution.
Meg Richardson 鈥10, Mus. Theat./Dance, starred as Belle in Geva Theatre鈥檚 December 2013 production of A Christmas Carol. At the conclusion of the production, Richardson also received her membership to the Actors Equity Association, the performing arts union representing theatre actors and stage managers.
Casey Wilczak 鈥10, Theatre, drew on his experiences as a participant in the 2008 March of Remembrance and Hope to work on The Devil鈥檚 Arithmetic, a play about the Holocaust adapted from a book by the same title, at Prime Stage Theatre in Pittsburgh, Pa. After working on the show, Wilczak spent his third season working at The Lost Colony, the country鈥檚 longest-running outdoor drama that is performed every summer in Manteo, N.C.
