Michelle Coghill Chatman, Ph.D., a contemplative educator and聽assistant professor in the Crime, Justice, and Security Studies (CJSS) program at the University of the District of Columbia, spoke to faculty and staff at Nazareth聽 about how she integrates mindfulness, storytelling, deep listening, and jazz into her instruction to help promote learning, well-being, and social justice awareness. Her research, funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, focuses on mindfulness and restorative justice as a violence prevention strategy for African American youth.
