Two Holiday Gala Concerts, Dec. 4 & 5
It's time to celebrate the holiday season, and the Nazareth College School of Music presents a program of festive music at the Rose Marie and John Beston Annual Holiday Gala, guaranteed to warm your heart and brighten your spirits! This event will take place on Saturday, December 4, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, December 5, at 3 p.m., in Glazer Music Performance Center鈥檚 Beston Hall.
THE PERFORMANCE
鈥淭his will be the first year that we are adding an additional performance听to this event, and we are hoping that the annual Gala will be embraced by the Rochester community as a holiday tradition,鈥� said David Davies, director of Nazareth鈥檚 School of Music.听This event is a continuation and expansion of Nazareth's long standing "Prism'' concert tradition, and it shares many similarities with that event.听Like the Prism, the Holiday Gala will feature a variety of performers and genres, and will make use of multiple performance听spaces throughout Beston Hall.听Unlike a traditional Prism concert, the Gala will follow a听standard concert format, with moments for applause between pieces, and increased involvement from our large ensembles.听
The Rose Marie and John Beston Annual Holiday Gala will feature performances from the Symphony Orchestra, the Treble and Chamber Choirs, the Brass Choir, the Saxophone Ensemble, a percussion trio, a jazz combo, the Horn Choir, the Tuba/Euphonium Choir, Chamber Strings, pianists, and a vocal jazz group.Some of the popular works that will be included are:听Sleigh Ride听and selections from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker performed by the Symphony Orchestra, Winter Wonderland听performed by a vocal jazz ensemble, and听selections from hit holiday films such as A Charlie Brown Christmas, Frozen,听and Home Alone.听听
