Mathematicians discover patterns, create structures, and transform relationships.
Doing mathematics develops your ability to reason logically, organize information, and solve complex problems. Nazareth math majors learn to think creatively, assess options, use multiple perspectives, determine optimal conditions, clearly communicate technical information. We teach the art and science of math with an emphasis on pattern discovery, problem solving, and the integration and communication of diverse ideas. Graduates are well prepared for careers in teaching (adolescence and elementary education), insurance, industrial, financial, and government fields.

Become a Teacher
Some students enrolled in the mathematics major choose to pursue New York State Teacher Certification at either the elementary听辞谤 adolescent level. Nazareth mathematics students develop essential skills with an emphasis on pattern discovery, problem solving, and the integration of diverse ideas. Our graduates are well-rounded and have the exceptional skills, creativity, and flexibility required to face the challenges of the classroom in the 21st century.
